The year 2007 was quite a challenging year, but through which we at Bible Helps have been wonderfully blessed. After we found out we would no longer be able to ship parcels to foreign countries by way of surface mail, we began corresponding with other missions who were facing the same dilemma. During that time, we were challenged by the words of Hellen Kuleskey, a life-term missionary serving with the "YOUTH" paper, who said (in faith) that our literature ministries "will not only survive but thrive." At that time, my faith was a little shaky. I knew the Lord owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). But I somehow doubted whether He could provide a way to send literature overseas in a more affordable way than the new Air Mail rates.
My fears and doubts were put to rest in a marvelous way! We were able to work out an arrangement to ship foreign parcels through a private mail consolidator. Their service is substantially faster than it was with the M-Bags that were being sent by surface mail.
Bible Helps has also been blessed financially. We are able to increase what we are sending to each person who places an order. We had been significantly cutting back on the orders for quite some time. However, in faith we sent out 2008 Order Lists along with the January 2008 Issue of Bible Helps and the Newsletter. Many people including many prisoners have been filling out the order forms and returning them to us. Now the filled-in order forms from the International countries are coming in. This will keep our International Correspondence department extra busy for a while.
